Born to the Ura tribe, her parents were miners that were massacred in a raid by the Dotharl and she was taken in to be trained as one of them. She knows very little about her life before the Dotharl. She was trained as one of their greatest warriors before her Inner Beast awoken and she became more of a liability than a weapon. She was cast out from the tribe and managed to make her way to Limsa Lominsa on various pirating ships around the age of 14.

After an incident in one of her more longer term stays with a pirating group she began working for the Adventurers Guild, though only by doing small tasks as Baderon was soft on her and her situation, but didn't want to put the girl in any danger. She was remarkably strong but hard to be around and interact with due to her Inner Beast. During one incident she saved Silas from an attack and their lives were intertwined forever after that.

At the age of 18 she reconnected with Silas by meeting the Scions, after he had left her a year or so before. They became the Warriors of Light.

After the battle with Zenos at the end of the world, Miya suffered an almost mortal wound, her right arm severed.

Currently, Miya and Silas travel with their daughter through the continent of Tural.

Miya is hard-of-hearing and selectively mute, typically only speaking through sign language. Silas interprets for her most of the time.
